Sad day for Science Fiction

...as some of you may know, and i'm sure Martin will comment more on (for those who read his blog), Sir Arthur Charles Clarke sadly passed away today.

Whilst i am not going to write of his life, which I suspect Martin will more than cover in a far better way that I, I simply thought it appropriate to leave a few quotes from Sir Arthur himself to give a measure of the man.

"Life is just one big banana. Science fiction allows us all to peel open the reality and discover the yellow truth inside."

"Sometimes I think we're alone in the universe, and sometimes I think we're not. In either case the idea is quite staggering."

"The greatest tragedy in mankind's entire history may be the hijacking of morality by religion."

"How inappropriate to call this planet Earth, when clearly it is Ocean."

1 mumbles or rants about it:

Sad news indeed
